While I was working with the Arizona Conservation Corps, I was briefly assigned to a job in Bryce Canyon!
Originally, I wasn't supposed to go to Utah and was assigned somewhere else, but long story short, my crew fell apart after everyone quit or got fired, so at the last second I was told to go to Bryce Canyon. I was happy to go, though! The crew I was working with were some of my favorite people to work with.
This was my last hitch doing chainsaw work, and I tried to make the most of it, even though my chainsaw skills were a little rusty. It ended up raining nearly every day, which led to a lot of waiting it out in the work truck, but that was alright.
Some very crunchy gifs of us working:
Almost every day after work, we'd go get ice cream. Then I'd get to eat a delcious dinner, because that crew had some fine cooks (even considering it was all vegetarian/gluten free!)
In May, I went to Kilby Block Party!
KBP was a lot of fun, but I might have over indulged a little if you catch my drift.
Some of my favorite bands I got to see:
Ginger Root- played the Neon Genesis Evangelion theme on the melodica
100 Gecs- got destroyed by wizards in the mosh pit
Belle & Sebastian- one of my friends got to dance on stage
The Garden- there were a bunch of clown folk
Courtney Barnett- she played a different version of Avant Gardener live
Peach Pit- immpecable vibes
I also had some of the best chicken and waffles- in Salt Lake City of all places! I will forever be dreaming about it
